1. We moved the sheep to WH pastures on June 19, so I'm sleeping there now as well. It's like 90F every night, so I'm soaking wet until about 4 am when it's 75 or so, and that feels like 32 when your clothes are all wet. The mosquitoes like it though as my sweat washes down the repellent. They don't like taste of repellent in their mouthes. Lots of nice grass there, so I guess we'll be there for a couple of weeks or so. That is, unless I go crazy before that. The sheep are homesick, too.
2. Mag is getting old - she breathes loudly, she snores, she can't run, she is now more stupid than the lambs (and that says a lot). But it was her who spotted bloody E.'s cow jumping the fence last night. I spent what felt like half of the night looking for the hole and getting the darn cow back, but it least it didn't have time to do any damage. The sheep tried (rather successfully) to chase her away - they got in a tight formation and pretended to attack. The cow retreated. That was funny. Oh, and BTW - just to make things more fun, I guess, E. now has some huge weird looking naked bull on that pasture (next to where we're), too. I don't like bulls. Especially with 200 yr old falling apart fences they have on that pasture. Need to talk to him.
3. The tangerine trees are covered with tiny green tangerines. I gave them some food.
4. We turned on AC yesterday. 85F feels like Arctic comparing to 100 plus outside.
5. The mower is fixed (had to buy a new battery). Lots of hay on DHP and Lake West. North Border Meadow has not gone to the seed yet (we grazed it 1.5 month ago).
6. Volk is sick - it seems that he ate something he shouldn't have. So he pukes and generally looks like crap. He still tried to help us with the cow last night though.

Man, you are so funny, I love reading your updates. Mel asked me what I was howling about in here. :)
This hot and humid SUCKS, although our temps aren't quite that hot. We're in the 90s though, and that's miserable when mixed with some humidity.
I would have loved to see the sheep chase the cow. :) Last night I freed a teenage chicken from a pallet by my compost pile, and momma hen came at me with a fierceness I was not expecting. :)
About the pallets... well... I'll send you an email. Hate to find myself competing for scarce resources around here. :)

Thanks, man. That means there are 2 people on the Earth who like my writings (because I like them too :))
It does suck. The details would be too gruesome, but it's pretty bad - it's so hot, I can't even cover my head with a sheet or something from the mosquitoes because then I'd die from the heat. That's why I wanted to do White House earlier but the grass was not there yet at that time.
The sheep attack was pretty amazing - they actually formed something like a flatiron shape and charged :) Yep, neither sheep nor chickens are these lovely creatures who wouldn't hurt a soul as the children's books describe them. They just don't have very efficient means to seriously hurt us. If sheep had teeth like dogs or chickens were 6 feet tall - that would be a horror movie right here. Imagine flock of 300 sheep with razor sharp fangs :))
Thanks for the pallets e-mail - I'll check if it's available around here. Never heard about that before.
